WestJet airlines is releasing a credit card and frequent flyer program this week, as it continues its quest to be Canada’s leading airline.

WestJet says card users can earn “WestJet dollars” for purchases, then use them towards flights and vacation packages.

The company promises those dollars can be used on seat sales and that customers won’t be subject to blackout periods or seat restrictions- unlike some travel point programs.
